Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Hin & Co collects through hinandco.com, why, and what we do with it. We collect as little as possible.

Who we are

Hin & Co is a function band based in Aotearoa New Zealand, led by Hinemoa Pohatu. In this policy, “we” and “us” means Hin & Co. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

The contact form

The contact form is the only place on this website where you give us personal information. It asks for:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your phone number (optional)
  • your message.

We use these details only to reply to your enquiry and, if you book us, to arrange your event. We don’t add you to a mailing list, and we never sell or share your details for marketing.

The form is run by Formspree, a form service based in the United States. When you press Submit, your message goes to Formspree, which emails it to us. Formspree keeps a copy of submissions so that messages aren’t lost. Its privacy policy is at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.

To stop spam, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. It checks that a real person is sending the message, using technical information from your browser. It doesn’t use cookies to track you or show you ads. Cloudflare’s privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry or booking, and then delete them.

Cookies

This website doesn’t set any cookies. There is no advertising, and we don’t use Google Analytics or any other tracking tools. That’s why there is no cookie banner.

The live videos on the home page and on some members’ pages come from YouTube. Each video shows only a picture until you press play, so nothing loads from YouTube before then. Once you press play, the video loads from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube may then store information in your browser, as described in Google’s privacy policy.

Links to Instagram, Facebook and YouTube take you to those websites, and their own privacy policies apply there.

Hosting and Google Search Console

The website is hosted by Cloudflare. Like every web host, Cloudflare briefly processes technical information when you visit, such as your IP address and the type of browser you use. It needs this to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. We don’t use this information to identify you.

We use Google Search Console to see how the website appears in Google search results, for example which searches show our pages. It doesn’t put any code or cookies on this website. It only gives us totals from Google Search, not information about individual visitors.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Please use the contact form or call Bob on (021) 427 682.

If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we’ll update this page. Last updated: 24 October 2026.
