Brendon was 17 years old when he picked up bass after watching an Iron Maiden concert. He picked up music studies immediately, bought a bass, joined the orchestra, joined bands, and from high school went on to study music at Whitiriea Community Polytechnic in Porirua under the tutelage of George Packard and Pati Umanga. He has been playing music in cover bands ever since, with the odd stint in studio recording as a session bassist.

Brendon has an eclectic music taste and enjoys music of all genres. There is groove in everything, you just have to find it to relate to it. First concert attended was Maxi Priest featuring Sly and Robbie. Although he is left handed, he plays a right handed bass, as they are easier to come by.
